So…longtime no post….I’ll cut right to the chase. Here’s the highlights from the last few weeks:
This last Saturday had absolutely perfect weather, so we took a bike ride to Smith Mountain Lake:
A couple of weeks ago, we made some land-use changes to our property. The neighbors to our south have a couple of horses, but not much land. So, we are renting some pasture to them. This is great for them, as they are getting pasture for not much more than they were spending on hay. This is awesome for me, because I get to look at, pet, feed, and otherwise enjoy having horses on my land, without having to actually DO anything, or take on any actual responsibility.
For our 1-year wedding anniversary, Kevin’s family went to enormous lengths to freeze/preserve the top of our wedding cake, and make sure it arrived in NC in time to celebrate. So by-gosh, we ate 1-yr old wedding cake, and enjoyed it too (all three bites in fact…yum:)
I like this picture of us. You try getting a dog to look in the direction of the camera.
The first weekend in May was the Baja SAE race in Tennessee. Since that’s not too far from our home, we decided to make a weekend of it and go watch our alma mater race. A good time was had by all, and the car was very impressive. However, hopefully the team will have it shaken down a little better for the next two races. The endurance race in Tennesse was plagued by reliability issues. (A baja? really? reliability issues? not enough testing? Why, whatever are you talking about….)
And finally, sometime in April we managed to install a sidewalk at our house.
