Spring weather is fickle

So, for the last couple of weeks we’ve had some fairly nice weather, as seen in the post below. Then, earlier this week, this happened:

The rest of the week was 40°F and rainy. (The rain part was fine, we needed it). Then, starting on Friday, the sun came back, and today was so nice we had to go hiking. Hopefully Spring got that last cold bit out of its system, so we can move on to warm weather activities:

I took the picture above because that is the exact spot where Cody decided to take a break. We were walking along just fine, and he decided he wanted to lay down right there on the trail. So we took a break, everyone drank some water, and we went on our merry way.  Typically, Cody is the leader of our expeditions. His attitude is: “Just tell me where we’re going, and I’ll lead the way!.” Sadly his hips no longer seem to cooperate with his enthusiasm for nearly as long as when he was younger (he’s only 5 now). Poor dog, he loves to go on hikes with us, but I’m not sure if he’ll be up for the longer ones anymore.

I get excited when it is 40 degrees up here– that’s a warm day in Syracuse in the spring ;-)
